Background Information
Greylisting is an anti-spam strategy at the
receiving end.
- An incoming e-mail from an unknown sender is
rejected.
- Spammers, generally, do not retry
e-mails.
- Legitimate mail servers do try
resending, repeatedly.
- So when the receiving mail server sees the
retry, it will accept the e-mail as valid and
process it.
All e-mails are delayed--the first time.
Subsequent e-mails from the same addresses go
through.

Error Message:
One example: "Greylisting in action, please
come back later"
Resolution:
No action required--our server is working
properly and it will automatically resend your
e-mail. When the greylisting mail server sees
the resend, it will process the message
normally. There will be a 4 hour delay,
approximately. |
